Llamas: An Effective Substitute for a Guard Dog

My aunt wants to get a guard llama. She has a coyote coming into the backyard and eating the chickens and so she wants to get a llama. Because she can't let the dog roam free, or else it might run off and a neighbour might shoot it. And apparantly llamas become quite fierce when confronted with predators. I can't decide whether this is a very stupid idea or completely awesome.
